Pencil Illustrator

I always start all my ideas for briefs with rough sketches, it helps me generate fresh ideas - and gives my clients lots of options to choose from.

You can see from the many bird sketches on the left how many different ideas I can think of! I always number each sketch so clients can easily let me know which they like - and if they would like aspects from different ones combining.

Pencil

I like using soft pencils 6B is a favourite! I find they give a rich, dark and lightly textured line adding something extra to my line drawings. Cumberland and Derwent pencils are brands I prefer.
